HOW DO I BEGIN A PROJECT WITH COGITO?

Clients approach us in various stages of project development. We can help in the planning & writing, or just supply video or editing professionals if you are farther along in your timeline. The first step to working together is to provide all information you can about your project. Info such as expected deliverables, timeline, budget range, goals and any other data/stats/materials which may be helpful to understand your objectives.

Once we fully understand your project and what you would like to achieve from the video, we create a treatment for your approval. The treatment will include our budget quote (with a few options upon request). When the treatment is approved, a contract is drafted and signed. Pre-production is to follow.

What do you charge for a video?

This is a tough question because we produce multiple kinds of video with various price points. The easiest answer to this question is we have a pricing guide spreadsheet. Our clients convey their needs to our producer assigned to their project and they are presented with a pricing quote to be approved. This guide lists all expenses for the project, including equipment and labor for both production and post-production.

How do i receive my video?

We have multiple methods to delivering the final product, and often use multiple options to ensure an easy, reliable distribution. The two most common methods are download links via Hightail or an embed code with our partners at Vimeo. We offer DropBox, WeTransfer, and a variety of other delivery methods…and of course, the good ol’ reliable flash drive :)

How long in advance to i need to schedule a shoot?

We pride ourselves in the ability to turn around a project with speed while maintaining quality. Go ahead and contact us to see if your ideal date is available on our calendar, whether it be near or far, and see if we can accommodate!

How long does it take to turnaround an edit?

This question obviously has a variety of answers, ranging from next-day turnaround to multiple months of editing. Our average project turnaround time is approximately 3 weeks once production is wrapped. We always provide a more specific turnaround estimate when creating your project treatment.
